With our Super Steps challenge well underway, we've got some tips and tricks coming in hot to help you to keep your motivation high ...whilst these temperatures are getting lower!
Step with family member, friend, or fury friend
This is a great way of keeping you accountable to your daily steps goal if you're feeling like having a day off! ;) There's also nothing like some good company and great conversation to pass the time while getting those steps in. Grab a coffee and do some laps of the local park!
Get creative!
We've seen some of our Super Steppers getting really creative with their steps:
-
Walk and talk on the phone
-
Repeat walking up and down a set of stairs
-
Making lunch? Step on the spot!
-
Walk the kids to school
-
Mop the house floors
-
Walk to the shops instead of driving
-
Work from home? Put your laptop on the treadmill and get stepping there.
...you get the idea ;) Head over to our FB group and Instagram page to get inspired by what our Steps community have been doing!
Don't forget your incidental steps
Don't forget to include your incidental stepping, like walking to the grocery store or to the car in your steps tally. Remember - every single step counts!
Shake up your route
Do you have a daily walking or running route to hit your daily steps goal? Why not shake it up a bit by venturing somewhere new and getting some different scenery, or doing the route backwards! You could set yourself an extra challenge of taking a photo somewhere new every day.
The impact of Starlight
As you step, remind yourself of the work that Starlight does every day. When a once-bright life becomes dulled by needles, hospital and painful treatments, Starlight helps sick kids forget their illness & rediscover the joy of childhood. Read these stories from our Super Steps motivators on our website to get inspired: Starlight Super Steps : Meet your motivators. Now that's worth hitting your steps goal for!
Don't forget we've also got our handy Steps Tracker under the Resources section of our website which has some fun facts, quotes, and inspo for your too!
So, what are you waiting for? Try putting some of these into action today and remember that every step you take and dollar you raise is making a HUGE impact for sick kids and their families!
