FOMO - For Our Man Ollie

The Story Behind FOMO

FOMO started as a joke. Ollie was one of those kids that, rather needing to be involved in everything, would watch from afar. He'd take it all in and learn through others - mainly his big sister Addy.

The side affect if being a watcher and a listener, was that he must always be watching, listening and knowing EVERYTHING.

He never missed a thing - if there was any noise around bed time, he'd be talking louder than ever, just for a scrap of attention and perhaps some knowledge of what all the fuss was about.

He carried this willpower of having a finger on the pulse at all times, right up until his last day with us.

One of the doctors who was administering pain relief couldn't believe how much extra they had to give him just to help him rest. He would always find a way to force his eyes open and lock them onto ours, the medication not once dulling the intelligent spark that was held within those two beautiful windows to a warrior's soul.

FOMO meant fear of missing out - and that was a heavily bookmarked page in Ollie's playbook. He took that iteration of FOMO with him, and now it's up to us to honour his legacy with our Starlight Super Steps team:
FOR OUR MAN OLLIE

We're fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. And we need YOUR support.

Did you know? Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to hospital in Australia.

This May, we're taking on the Super Steps challenge to raise funds that will make hospital a happier place for seriously ill children.

We’ve set a goal to walk or run thousands of steps every day, for an entire month. And we need your support.

When you sponsor our challenge, you’ll help create much needed happiness for sick kids and their families. The money you donate will help seriously ill children cope better with the pain and stress of treatment, and helps families feel more connected and positive about what lies ahead.

Any amount you can spare will help brighten kids’ lives when they’re going through tough times in hospital. Can we count on your support?

Thank you to our Sponsors
