I’m fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and for children like my niece, Angelia.

ANGELIA’S STORY

At the age of 2, Angelia was like any other normal child. However, she was quite unwell to the point where she would become extremely pale, and her lips and feet would turn blue.

After 3 days of multiple tests, Angelia was formally diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on the 21^st of September 2022.

As a family, our world changed and hearing my brother tell me the news through tears over the phone shattered my world. Our Dad had also just been diagnosed with a terminal illness, and we were still coming to terms with that when this rocked our world.

My brother Andrew and sister-in-law Gabby were in and out of hospital with Angelia supporting her with changes that no 2-year-old should have to go through.

Invasive painful procedures and medicine was continuously pumped into her body to ensure that Angelia would become healthy again.  

Starlight was a positive light to Angelia, providing times of fun and laughter to ensure that Angelia felt like any other normal child.

After 2 years of treatment, Angelia’s fighting spirit shone through, and she was able to ring the bell on the 24^th of December 2024.

She still requires monthly tests but is now living her life as she should. A happy, healthy, fun and let’s face it cheeky 5 year old.

As a family, we will forever be grateful for the support that the starlight foundation provides to sick children and their families.
