This May, I am walking for Starlight as a way to say thank you for all the support they provided to me as a teen. As first a member and then as a mentor of Livewire Online, Starlight’s website for chronically ill teens, I have seen first hand the impact that Starlight can have on kids and teens. Starlight came into my life when I need support the most, I was recently diagnosed with a chronic illness and living in a regional area didn’t really have anyone to talk to about my experience. Livewire Online provided a great escape, the chat room provided a space for teens going through similar challenges to talk and not have to explain themselves. To this day I credit the support I received on Livewire for getting me where I am today.

Livewire Online is just a small part of Starlight. The Starlight Express Rooms and Livewire In Hospital also provide invaluable support and an escape for kids and teens in the hospital.
