Team Thea
We’re building something bigger than a fundraiser.
We’re building a force. 💫
Welcome to Team Thea.
Team Thea was created in honour of our super warrior hero! Our brave girl who faced Retinoblastoma (cancer of the retina in her right eye) with more courage than most adults could ever imagine. She showed us what resilience looks like. What grit looks like. What light looks like in the middle of darkness.
But this team isn’t just about what she went through.
It’s about who stood beside her.
The incredible Starlight Children's Foundation didn’t just support Thea, they changed her hospital experience entirely. They brought laughter into sterile rooms. They replaced fear with fun. They reminded her she was a child first and a patient second. And they gave our whole family moments of relief when we needed them most.
So why create a whole team in her honour?
Because cancer impacts one child, but it affects an entire family.
Because one Captain’s kindness can change the course of a hospital stay.
Because no child should have to choose between being brave and being a kid.
Team Thea exists to make sure that any child who is as unlucky as our girl in health is just as lucky in support. We step up so sick kids can still step into joy. We rally so hospital hallways can still echo with laughter. We fundraise so childhood doesn’t get cancelled by illness.
This is bigger than kilometres walked or dollars raised.
This is about standing behind a little girl who stood tall when it mattered most.
This is about turning gratitude into action.
This is about giving back to the magic that carried us through.
If Thea can face cancer with courage, we can lace up our shoes.
If she can fight like a warrior, we can show up like a team.
Join Team Thea.
Step up for sick kids.
Be part of something powerful.
Let’s rally behind our hero, and make sure Starlight can keep shining for every family who needs them next. ⭐️💜

My friend designed the original Starlight foundation costumes. I use to love seeing the volunteers at at hospital when my friend’s daughter was being treated for cancer
