I’m fundraising for the Starlight Children’s Foundation. And I need YOUR support.

Hello, my name is Chelsea, and I wanted to share a little about why raising money for the Starlight Foundation means so much to me.

When I was 14 years old, I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Hearing those words completely turned my world upside down. It was one of the most difficult and frightening times of my life, but with the support of my family and friends, I found the strength to keep going.

Being in hospital and going through chemotherapy was incredibly scary. However, discovering the Starlight Room changed everything. It became a place of comfort, warmth, and joy during such a tough time. It was somewhere I could go to escape, even just for a little while, and feel like a normal teenager again. The Starlight Captains were truly amazing—they brought laughter, positivity, and light into days that otherwise felt very heavy.

One of the most special experiences I had was being granted a wish. My wish was to go on a shopping spree, and Starlight made it happen in ways I could never have imagined. I was given a stylist, a private car service, and even had a store closed just for me so I could choose outfits. They also organised a beautiful brunch, making the entire experience feel incredibly special and unforgettable.

During treatment, I gained a lot of weight and really struggled with my body image. I didn’t feel like myself, and it was hard to find clothes that made me feel confident. That experience gave me more than just new clothes—it gave me a sense of confidence again and helped me feel comfortable in my own skin during a time when I needed it most.

Having something positive to look forward to while going through treatment made such a difference. It gave me hope, something to plan for, and a reason to keep pushing forward on the hardest days.

That’s why I’m so passionate about raising money for the Starlight Foundation. The support they provide goes far beyond just a moment of happiness—it creates lasting memories, lifts spirits, and gives children going through serious illnesses something truly special to hold onto.

Every dollar raised helps bring joy, hope, and unforgettable experiences to kids facing cancer and other serious conditions. These wishes aren’t just gifts—they are moments of light in incredibly dark times, giving children strength, confidence, and something to look forward to when they need it most. Being able to help create that for other kids is something very close to my heart.

Did you know? Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to hospital in Australia.

This May, I’m taking on the Super Steps challenge to raise funds that will make hospital a happier place for seriously ill children.

I’ve set myself a goal to walk or run thousands of steps every day, for an entire month. And I need your support.

When you sponsor my challenge, you’ll help create much needed happiness for sick kids and their families. The money you donate will help seriously ill children cope better with the pain and stress of treatment, and helps families feel more connected and positive about what lies ahead.

Any amount you can spare will help brighten kids’ lives when they’re going through tough times in hospital. Can I count on your support?
