Please help us raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation in Jack's honour.

Did you know? Every minute of every day, a child is admitted to hospital in Australia. This was the case for Jack on boxing day 2024, this was his 3rd admission that month and we never expected it to be the beginning of the most challenging 6 months.

Jack faced every challenge with the support and love of his family by his side. He overcame fears and grew into the strongest person I have ever met. Everyday for 6 months was different, small wins were celebrated but the backward steps hit hard. 

In true Jack style, he did everything his way and didn't  follow any of the medical rules or expectations. He kept the doctors guessing and when things got really bad after 6 months,  he suddenly was fine and able to go home. We had an amazing 6 weeks at home before they suddenly weren't. Two more short hospital visits with no answers, but it was too much for his poor body that had gone through so much and he passed away suddenly.

While Jack was in hospital the whole thing was taking a huge emotional toll on him and his family, but the bright light and hope that Starlight gave us was a blessing. It was the only place that gave him joy and a break from his small hospital room. The Captains were amazing and knew just how to bring back his laugh. They even helped the rest of the family feel joy.

Jack was lucky enough to be gifted a Starlight wish and was going to fullfill his dream of digging dinosaur fossils, but he wasn't able to use it.

This May, we're taking on the Super Steps challenge to raise funds that will make hospital a happier place for other kids like Jack.

We’ve set a goal to walk 10,000 steps every day, for an entire month. And we need your support.

When you sponsor our challenge, you’ll help create much needed happiness for sick kids and their families. The money you donate will help seriously ill children cope better with the pain and stress of treatment, and helps families feel more connected and positive about what lies ahead.
